Oar and Sail

The clientele of this inn are mostly sailors, fishermen, and
less prosperous river merchants and peddlers. Things occasionally get rough in
the tap room, but in general the place is orderly. The Oar and Sail is owned
by Karlo Phaerhien, a former beggar. During the Shaking Plague of 1370 DR,
he fled Scardale Town with a considerable sum of money, which he used to found
the Oar and Sail. Phaerhien is reticent about the origin of this seed money
- if pressed about it, he simply claims he was an extraordinarily skilled
beggar, and one can make substantial money at such a profession if he has the
knack for it. Despite his former low station in life, Phaerhien has proven to
be a capable innkeeper. Rooms, including one meal a day, are 8 silver, with
stabling an additional 7.
