The House of Duty Fulfilled

This temple of Torm has prospered during the
years since its construction, benefiting greatly from the patronage of Governor
Dermmen, Vholta Bannerman, and other prominent citizens. It is overseen by
Terrick Faithsman (LG Cleric of Torm 5/Paladin 2). Faithsman is nominally
Kelvos’ superior, but in practice interferes little his secular duties.

The Favored Chance – Tymora’s temple is the largest in Chandlerscross, and
its fortunes and wealth has grown along with the town’s. Located in the western
neighborhood, near both Chandlerkeep and the House of Duty Fulfilled, it is
staffed by many faithful, both clerical and lay, and enjoys the worship of
the majority of the population. Arissa Swifthand (Cleric of Tymora 8), a young,
pretty red head of calm demeanor and formidable wits, runs the Favored
Chance. Her cousin, Mikul Swifthand (Cleric of Tymora 4), serves as temple sexton
and her assistant. Mikul is in his late teens, of plump build, his hair a
brighter shade of red than Arissa’s, curling tightly where hers flows in gentle
waves, and his face prominently freckled, whereas her complexion is milky
and pure. Mikul is friendly, gregarious, and seems a bit bumbling, though in
truth he executes his duties well. He is especially popular with the older
female parishioners of the Favored Chance. The Swifthands are on very good terms
with Dermmen and the Council, Bannerman, and the temple of Torm.

Recent events in the dock quarters of Chandlerscross, culminating recently
with the death of a parishioner – Erac Weaver – after he had consulted with
her, have aroused in Arissa suspicions of Besheban activity. Attempts at
divination have proven inconclusive, which is significant in itself. Arissa has
discretely offered a reward for any information about Besheban worship.
